Step #1

You will need the following items.  A clean mixing bucket, dry component “A” & Liquid Component “B”.  A hand held mixer, and any decorative aggregate or glass, up to 8#.

Step  #2

If desired iron oxide or liquid colors may be added to your mix, 10 oz for iron oxides is the maximum amount recommended to be added to one 50# bag,.  8 oz is the maximum amount of liquid color.  Pre-measure your color prior to mixing.

The following is a reference for the blending of the two component premium mix.

Step #4

Verify that you have all the items measured and ready prior to blending your mix.

· 50 lb bag of Component “A”

· Pail of Liquid Component “B”

· Measured out color (if desired)

· Clean mixing tub

· Clean Mixer

· Additional decorative rock and or glass up to 8 lbs

Step  #5

Place the liquid component into the tub.  Note the liquid contains the fiber reinforcing.

Step  #7

Blend the liquid and the color  together with the mixer

Step  #6

Add (if desired) iron oxide for liquid color to the mix

Step  #8

.Add the 50# bag of material to the tub and blend until all of the material is mixed.  Be cautious not to “fold” to much air into the mix as you blend it.  Minimize the up and down motion and the fluffing of the mix in the tub keeping the paddle in the tub.

Step  #9

(if desired) add an additional 8lbs of decorative glass or aggregate to this point and blend until evenly distributed

Text Box: Step #10
Pour the mix from corner to corner into the awaiting form. Do Not place the material into the middle of the form. The material will begin to self level.

Step  #11

If the size of your piece allows, gently shake the form from side to side to help the material level.

Step  #12

With the Kneading action use your hand and cover the entire piece.  This action will help bring any trapped air bubbles to the surface.  On average, cover the casting 2-3 times.

Step  #13

Using a hammer or rubber mallet, gently tap the sides of the form to help consolidate the material and release any trapped air.  On average tap each side slowly 2-3 times.

The casting portion of your project is complete.  You will be able to de-mold your piece in 3 hours and can polish it as soon as 4 hours.

VERSION 2.1

1. On hot days it is recommended to wet cure the cast piece by spraying the back side with water as many times as needed.

3.Once the piece is cast do not move it.  Moving the piece may cause it to crack or delaminate.

2. If the air temperature is lower than 70 degrees F.  The cure time may extend longer than 4 hours.  Thinner pieces may cure slower.  as the thinner mass generates minimal heat.

Miscellaneous Tips

4.To assure uniformity when casting multiple pieces measure out all of your additives prior to mixing.

5. Heavy tapping or use of a vibrating table for a long period of time may cause the decorative aggregate or glass to consolidate to the center of the piece.
